How to build a 30-day social media content plan for a company account

Content pillars, a weekly rhythm and a measurement logic so you stop asking “what should we post?” every morning.

How to build a 30-day social media content plan for a company account

Most company accounts fall into the same cycle: a week of heavy posting, then three weeks of silence. The problem is not a lack of ideas but a lack of a plan. The method below is a simple framework that splits a month into four weeks and fills each with defined content pillars.

1. Define your content pillars first

Three to five pillars are enough: product/service, expertise (tips, how-tos), company culture (team, production, behind the scenes), customer stories and industry news. Every post belongs to one pillar; if it does not, it is probably unnecessary.

2. Fix a weekly rhythm

Three to five posts a week is a sustainable pace for most company accounts. For example: product on Monday, expertise on Wednesday, team on Friday. Once the rhythm is fixed, design and copy can be produced in batches.

3. Choose the format per platform

Text-led posts and document carousels work better on LinkedIn, short video and multi-image posts on Instagram, events and announcements on Facebook. Adapt the format instead of pushing the same content to every platform in the same shape.

4. Tie the visual language to one template set

Four to six templates for colour, type and layout are enough. A template set keeps the account looking like it comes from one hand even when different people produce content, and it shortens production time.

5. Measure with three questions at month end

Which pillar got the most engagement? Which format was saved or shared? Which post led to the website or the inbox? These three answers shape next month's plan; the like count alone is not a measure.

6. Shorten the approval process

If content is approved monthly rather than weekly, publishing does not stall. One approver and a shared calendar (even a simple table) remove the most common cause of delay.

If you would like to map the content pillars and the first month's calendar for your account together, send us your current posts and goals; we will start with a short review.
